The British F3 championship is one of the most reputed single-seater categories in Europe. For decades it has been highlighted as one of the most important quarries for great drivers who have subsequently succeeded in Formula 1. Drivers such as Ayrton Senna, Rubens Barrichello, Nelson Piquet and Mika Hakkinen have all learnt their race craft in this category on their way to the highest echelon of the sport: Formula One.
With over 50 years of history, the British F3 International Series is one of the most competitive and hard-fought categories in the world. The challenging nature of the UK circuits, as well as the competitiveness of the top teams, makes British F3 one of the best show cases for young drivers from around the world.
The 2008 British F3 International Series will feature 11 events, nine in Britain and three circuits on the continent. Spa, Monza and the street track of Bucharest will be the three non-UK events on the calendar. With each race meeting featuring two races, the British F3 drivers will compete for the title over 22 races.
Jaime Alguersuari made his British F3 debut in 2008 in his Carlin Dallara, powered by a Mercedes HWA engine. With 5 race wins and 12 podiums, Jaime has became the youngest driver ever to win the British F3 matching names such as Ayrton Senna and Rubens Barrichelo.
